Why I love this egg like sponge? For me this is the easiest way to blend your foundation and end up with flawless beautiful skin. Isn't that the ultimate goal for us?
Im always quite surprised when I do my makeup lessons about how many people don't know how to use it. So here we go...
First of all.. (I think I really like it because of this...) you have to use it wet, meaning you need to wash it first. There is a specially designed soap for the sponge, but I really use any hand-soap I can find. Make sure you rinse it properly so it doesn't hold any soap in it
Be careful not to dig your nails into it as this can damaged it. Only scrub it with your finger tips. after you wash it, dry the excess water with a towel. Now your sponge is ready for your foundation or any cream or powder,
Then load the sponge with a good amount of foundation and the whole purpose of using it wet make sense from here. When it's wet it doesn't absorb as much product as it would when dry. I apply the foundation, dabbing the product into the skin instead of dragging it from one side to another, this way you ensure the skin has enough product to achieve the coverage you need. Best way to do this is by applying light layers.
I use it to blend foundation, cream blush, cream highlighter and to set all that cream with loose powder. For me this is the best way to set creams. It will stay put for a long long time without even touching up.
